What Certifications Do You Need?

St. Lawrence College students in Nursing and PSW programs are required to complete:

• Standard First Aid

• CPR Level C

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

Without a valid certification, you cannot participate in clinical placements or continue in your program.

 

CPR Level C vs. BLS

CPR Level C covers resuscitation techniques for adults, children, and infants, including two-person CPR and AED use.

Basic Life Support (BLS) is more advanced and specifically designed for healthcare workers. It includes high-quality CPR, airway management, team response, and handling cardiac arrest scenarios in clinical settings.
