BLS Ottawa: Mastering Basic Life Support in the Capital
Healthcare professionals are an integral part of our overall health management system here in Ottawa, and as such, they require a higher level of training and require it more often than the average person. Basic Life Support training must be taken by healthcare professionals each year, keeping them up to date with all new regulations and procedures.
Holmes Medical Training's basic life support course has been developed according to provincial regulations and is taught across Ottawa through schools and private courses. Our training program focuses on the specific needs of healthcare workers, while also refreshing many of the fundamentals. Some of the key components of the basic life support program are as follows:
A team approach to CPR Level C with AED at the BLS level
2 and 3 rescuer scenarios
BVM training
Jaw Thrusts
Secondary Survey
SAMPLE
Taking vitals (every 5 minutes) when calling 911
It is essential that all healthcare workers receive the highest quality of training and are properly prepared to respond to the emergencies they face on the job. We offer our Basic Life Support course in conjunction with our Standard First Aid course, leaving no doubt that the graduates of our program are leaving with the necessary skills and knowledge to work in the field.
